Mitoza is a fun, freaky Web toy with an artistic look
If you click the flower pot, a flower pot appears and the seed is planted inside. You're then presented with two further choices -- a water can or a bottle of fertilizer. Each choice you make causes your creation to morph, and presents you with two other choices.
There's no winning or losing, really. Each "game" usually lasts around four or five choices, at which point the plant/animal dies in some creative (but not too gruesome) way. At this point you instantly start over with a new seed.
The graphics are captivating; the whole thing has a cinematic feel to it, with a bit of artificial camera shake added for style.
All in all, it's a fun, peaceful way to spend a few minutes, and it might even make you think a little bit while you're at it.

webOS 3.0 beta now available to developers
Right now, the webOS 3.0 beta is only available to Early Access developers. The crew at PreCentral states that HP appears to have eased up on access restrictions, however, so hopefully more devs will get on board and those of you who are planning to buy a TouchPad in the next couple months will have plenty of slick webOS 3.0 apps to install on your new tablet.

Jolicloud aiming to bring all your cloud services under one Android application
Gmail, Flickr, Dropbox, Picasa, are all massively popular cloud services, but all requiring their own applications to allow you to access your data. This is where Jolicloud, the portable desktop steps in, as they aim to bring their communal cloud access platform to the mobile space.
For anyone not familiar, presently Jolicloud is basically a home for all your different cloud services, to be accessed from one place. The current offering is available as a web app, and also as an entire OS in the form of Joli OS. I've tried the OS, and while the range of cloud services that can plug into it is pretty wide, as a desktop OS there's no real need for it as Google Chrome has it covered for me. As a mobile offering, if done correctly, it becomes a whole different ball game.
Task switching on Android is pretty simple, and slick in the case of Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich. The point remains though that you have to jump from your Gmail app, to your Dropbox app, and then over to your Flickr app. Jolicloud's principle is to remove task switching, and have everything accessible from one app, similar to the Flipboard social networking application.
Currently still in beta in its early stages, there will soon be an Android application available for both phones and tablets that will provide access to the service over wifi and cellular data. There is no date as yet for the launch of the app, but applications for invites when the beta opens up can be found by hitting the source link below.

Google TV 2.0 is announced; updates start next week, new hardware in coming months
Google has finally taken the lid off the next generation of Google TV. Announced this morning on the Google TV Blog, el Goog reminds us that "these are still early days." But things are improving. And this major update will focus on four areas:
- A simpler user interface, with a customizable home screen.
- Finding content becomes easier. TV and movies get their own search, whether they're on Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, cable, satellite, etc.
- Improved YouTube experience. Leanback was just the beginning. It's now been integrated even deeper.
- Apps. Finally, the Android Market comes to Google TV. You won't initally have the full breadth of the market on Google TV -- apps that require a touchscreen, GPS or telephony won't show, so that pares things down quite a bit -- but Google says it has 50 developers already lined up.
So, when will we see updates? If you've got one of the Sony boxes or TVs, you should start seeing updates early next week. The Logitech Revue will come later. Google says new devices from multiple manufacturers will arrive in the coming months.
Check out the preview video after the break.

Pastebin updated to V3, releases Windows app
It has recently undergone a major overhaul which includes the release of a brand new Windows client. The new client lets you create new "pastes" and manage your existing ones. It joins a host of other tools from Pastebin, such as the Google and Chrome extensions, OS X widget and the mobile apps.
If you're currently using Pastebin, the new client is a great addition. And if you haven't tried it before, next time you have a piece of code you want to share or get some feedback on, you could do worse than try out Pastebin.
[Thanks, Jeroen!]

Microsoft trumpets Windows Phone 7 numbers on first birthday
Microsoft is quick to take a couple shots at competitors' app stores, beating its chest about not re-counting tanslations of an app or "lite" apps, "increasing tonnage" by supporting apps from other mobile platforms, and not listing wallpapers as a category.
That's all fine and dandy, but we spend a lot of time sifting through WP7 app feeds -- and we're still not seeing a lot of awesome apps on the platform. We think a few marquee apps would've made a pretty nice first birthday present -- along with a much smoother update process for WP7 users.
